March 20th-24th

Welcome back from Spring Break! Hopefully you found time to relax and enjoy the time off. We have a little over 9 weeks left in this awesome school year-let's make the most of the time we have.

Our main focus for the next few weeks is SAGE prep. SAGE testing is tentatively the 2nd and 4th weeks in April. When the dates are definite, I will let you know. Testing can be stressful, and I will do what I can to minimize this. My main concern is that the students are learning every day, and the things we prepare for on the SAGE test are important academic components of Language Arts.

Students need to learn to be able to complete an essay in 2 class periods-this will be a skill they need to help them think critically and become better writers. As always, if students require more than 2 class periods, they can request to come in for FLEX and finish up.

March 6th-March 10th

This week we are finishing up our Argumentative Essays about superheroes! It has been very interesting to get a glimpse of the ideas and opinions that have been a part of this assignment. Students seem to really enjoy writing about a fun topic, while learning how to craft an argumentative essay.
